Despite having to postpone the Caernarfon 2020 Food Festival until 2021 due to the Corona Covid-19 virus, the committee continues to meet regularly (over the internet) and has been busy with all sorts of different activities. The festival administers the funding of the Porthi Pawb scheme in Caernarfon, which provides over 600 meals a week to those in need. We have also been organizing various digital activities to support producers, chefs and maintain interest in the festival.

The first is featured on our Events page, a chat and cookery demonstration with Matt Guy. Ifan Tudur, a member of the organizing committee, talks to Matt over Zoom. Matt, originally from Deiniolen, was one of the chefs at our first festival, and in the video he prepares 4 different recipes using Welsh Luing Beef, discussing the highlights and lowlights of his career, the future of the the catering industry and the experience of having a baby on the first day of the lockdown.

On Saturday we will be holding our first Online Market. Head over to our Facebook page and join us at the events from 10-12 in the morning and 8 to 10pm at tnight to shop from home and find lots of treats from companies that usually come to the festival.
