18/03/2020Statement by the organisers of the Caernarfon Food Festival Due to the current situation with the Covid-19 virus, and in order to prevent the spread, the Caernarfon Food Festival has decided not to hold the 2020 festival. This is certainly a disappointment for us as organisers, and is sure to be so for the stallholders, performers and the thousands who attend annually. But our priority is public health and wellbeing, so we need to follow Government guidelines to try to stop the spread of the virus. We are so grateful for all the support the festival has received. Without that support, it would be impossible to put on a free festival, which includes over 120 stalls, live music and workshops. We have held various events during the year to raise funds to enable the festival to be held and that money will now be held to ensure a fantastic festival in 2021. We sympathise very much with those artists and businesses who will suffer financial losses over the next period, and we as a voluntary crew will be sure to be out in the community offering help where needed. Look after yourself and each other. Back to the news page. |
