JAN 29, 2018 - CATRINSIRIOL
Gŵyl Fwyd Caernarfon Food Festival’s Curry Competition returns on Friday, February 9th, with 8 amateur chefs competing for a £50 prize and the ‘Best Curry’ title. Following the success of the fundraising event in 2016 and 2017, the festival organisers have once again set the challenge. The audience taste 8 different curries from 8 anonymous chefs, mark the dishes and choose the winner. Rhys Edwards, a camera man from the Felinheli, came top in the last two competitions but will not compete this year. He says; “It’s very important for us as organisers that the festival is free so that everyone can enjoy and have access to locally produced food and drink. Organising the fundraising events here is a big part of our volunteering committees’ work, and the fundraising events are as much a part of the festival as the festival itself. We raised over £400 at our last event and every penny counts. So, if you want the festival to remain free then why not buy a ticket to one of our fundraising events!” Tickets to the evening are £15 and are available from the Palas Print store. Tickets will need to be purchased before Monday, February 5th to ensure that there is enough food for everyone. Bring your own drinks.
