Bonfire night food stall going from strength to strength - Marged Rhys

06/11/2019

It was a fantastic evening with the Caernarfon Lions fireworks exhibition as special as ever, with hundreds of people of all ages watching.

Me, Menna and Ifan were on the stand selling cold drinks and candy floss, which sold out before the fireworks even started! Thanks to Gisda for lending us the candy floss machine and for the sugar. The crew are now considering a healthier option as a treat for next year that fits in with our values for the festival, promoting a healthy diet.

On the van, Angharad and Sophie were busy serving and making cups of tea, coffee and hot chocolate - thanks to Morrisons and Penningtons for the donations. Busy cooking the hot dogs and keeping the soup bubbling away were Nici and Alun, with the thanks for the soup going to Antur Waunfawr's kitchen, to Carlton's bakery for the bread and OG Owen's butcher for the delicious sausages.

From the food stall alone, we have raised over £500!

This year a bunch of volunteers were out in the crowd with buckets helping to raise money for the Caernarfon Lions and for the 2020 Food Festival. Many thanks to everyone who donated to the cause and we hope you enjoyed the wonderful display.
