2018 CHRISTMAS MARKET

DECEMBER 11, 2018 - CATRINSIRIOL

Despite the weather, a very Christmassy market was held at Copa, on Castle Square in Caernarfon on Saturday 8thDecember to raise money for the 2019 Caernarfon Food Festival. A variety of stalls sold foods and crafts made and sourced locally; from Miss Marple Makes’ porcelain jewellery and decorations to Bragdy Lleu’s award winning Welsh beer from Dyffryn Nantlle. Also at the market was Jaspels selling craft cider made on Anglesey, Ffyj Mam selling fudge in every flavour, Ty Siocled with their locally produced handmade chocolates, the artist Ffion Pritchard, Tredici, Eryri Candles, and Catrin Angharad selling her CD for the festive season.

There was also a craft stall where you could make your own Christmas tree decorations. There will be quite a few wonderful Red Robins and Angels decorating the houses in Caernarfon and the surrounding area this year!

CO NI OFF 2019!

Father Christmas stayed at the market all day fair play to him, meeting and listening to the children’s Christmas wishes. We are very grateful to Tŷ Siocled, Caernarfon for the chocolate gifts, which were made especially for the event.

Meanwhile, committee members were busy organising the raffle, and selling aprons, recipe books and tickets to fundraising events happening in the new year. Keep an eye on our website and our social media pages for more information.

The raffle, a hamper full of mince pies, Christmas cards, books and other goodies donated by the local businesses of Caernarfon was won by Linda from Bontnewydd who will certainly be enjoying a wonderful Christmas this year.

We raised £528 for the festival, and we are very grateful to everyone who came to buy, sell and help out on the day!

Our next fundraising event will be the Gin Night held at Tŷ Glyndwr, Caernarfon. Tickets are £15 and available from Palas Print. Until then, Happy Christmas and a tasty New Year!
