How will you get to us? Considering the sweeping success of the first three years and the numbers of people flocking to the town, we would encourage that you use public transport rather than cars if you live close enough and have easy access to transport.
May you wish to travel on a leisurely steam train and enjoy the magnificent views of Beddgelert and Waunfawr, you could travel on a Ffestiniog Railway train. The train is offering an extra service from Porthmadog to Caernarfon to ensure that visitors and local people are able to be part of the this event exhibiting the best of Wales’ local produce.
Several buses run into Caernarfon from all directions. It is expected that the festival will draw to an end by 5p.m and that most buses will still be running after that time.
You can find all the area’s bus timetables as well as a handy journey planning tool by visiting Gwynedd Council’s website.
You could also travel on your bike. Following a rise in popularity of cycling and walking as leisure activities, the old railway lines in Gwynedd were developed into off road cycling and walking routes during the eighties. By today, they form the foundation of the Gwynedd Recreational Routes. Lôn Las Eifion runs from Porthmadog, by-passing Penygroes, and on to Caernarfon, Lôn Las Menai from Felinheli to Caernarfon and Lôn Las Peris from Llanberis to Caernarfon.
Further information and maps can be found on Gwynedd Council’s website.
For those of you wishing to bring a car to the Festival, you can park in one of the many pay and display car parks in the town.
Information on parking can also be found on Gwynedd Council’s website, and if you are an annual parking permit holder, you can use it in any long stay car park.
Ysgol Syr Hugh Owen school are also opening up their car park for visitors again this year, which is a short 15 minute walk from the festival.
